What's Happening at the Library

September - October
In September representatives from the Phoenix Public Library came to MZ library to promote all the great activities the public library offers. They also treated students to a story.  Applications for library cards were left with teachers for students to take home. Students who fill them out and return them will be receiving their new cards soon.

In October 1st & 2nd grade students have been learning the difference between Fiction and Non-Fiction books.  Books are then shown to them and they are asked to determine whether they are Fiction or Non-Fiction.

At storytime, Kinders are listening to books about bats in anticipation of Halloween.  A Halloween book section is available for student check out.

Third graders are seeing YouTube trailers on books we currently have in the library to spark interest in books they may not have read before.

Fourth graders have been shown Destiny Discover, the WESD online library catalog on the computer and are having opportunity to practice using it.  Students also enjoy the challenge of an October Word Search activity and/or a Halloween Crossword Puzzle.
